Someone here hit the nail on the head, but I wanted to break down each verse and give my opinion. So this is of course about someone who judges people based on their drug habits, going by what people tell them rather than experiencing it first hand. Whenever I hear this I think of a girl that did exactly this, judged me because I smoke pot. Anyways, lets get to it... "Me just happy robot Live on hill of beans" This person thinks they're living a dream life on a "hill of beans" without drugs. And he describes them as a robot because they're just like everyone else. "You and I cut from same cloth Rippin at the seams" Josh is saying that drug users and non-drug users are the same, and "rippin at the seams" could mean they're both fucked up in their own way, whether they like it or not. "Don't forget to remember The devil's got pills in his eyes Look, laugh, but don't touch Cut you down to size" This whole verse he's describing that people are too afraid of drugs, so they do every thing to avoid them, but still judge people that use them. They laugh at people who use them, but are too ignorant and scared to try them. And "cut you down to size" means he's going to prove them wrong, and knock them off their hill of beans. "My girl's all out of focus I ain't no big surprise" His "girl" is obviously high or under the influence of something. "Daddy got his gun loaded Got cross hairs in his eyes" To me, I think this is when his father (or his "girls" father) realizes that he's (or she's) been doing drugs. And he's really pissed off, so he has cross hairs in his eyes, like he's going to kill/punish someone. And it ends in "shut up" which means that Josh is sick and tired of all the bullshit people are saying. "You would know" The chorus, he's simply taunting these people. Like if he's in an argument with someone who's never done drugs and they try and make a rational point, he smirks and then and says "you would know". Really kick ass song, and one I can relate to. I'm sick and tired of people thinking all pot smokers are dumb losers. Fact is, they know jack shit about pot or consuming pot, they only believe what their parents tell them. |

Fuckin awesome song, I can relate to it so well right now. First off, yes it's about love. It's about being so madly in love with someone you begin to obsess over them, and can't stop thinking about them. I think all the lines are metaphors to show how much he's obsessing over this girl. I don't really think he crawled through a window, or cut his wrists in her sink. My favourite line in the song, and in any song. "You're solid gold, I'll see you in hell" Brilliant. I don't think he kills himself though. "You're solid gold", means she's perfect. She's beautiful and all the works. "I'll see you in hell" could just be his way of telling her to fuck off since she doesn't love him. Another brilliant line is "Life is a trip when you're psycho in love" because it's so damn true. Well that's my interpretation. |

Signed up just to comment on this song since it's so amazing. Alright, the way I see it, he's talking about one of the hot popular girls. Yeah you know the ones, they're gorgeous, but they're complete bitches. I think that's where "Clear-eyed girl, In a crooked way" comes in. She's beautiful, but in a crooked way, which probably means she just has appearance going for her. And he pretty much goes on saying he loves her, but she doesn't know it because she's completely oblivious about this guy, "That you probably think this song ain't about you". That's my two cents. Oh, and I think after the line "When you flash your fangs", he adds a "fuck" after. |
