Definitely a song about two lovers who are not going through the best of time. I don't think it's about a death because he is asking this person not to leave them and take all those feelings that they've developed with them. That means that they have a choice, whereas people that are dying don't usually have a choice to die or not. |

This may not be the meaning but to me it means something along the lines of a Man meeting a woman, falling for her (but not her falling for him). Then she meets someone else before he can do anything and he waits patiently waiting and hoping for her relationship fails so he can get another chance. Although he realizes that he should just give up on her and let her go be with another person and not to hope for her relationships to fail so he can get another chance that wont be taken.
That's just what it seems to me though. |

A lot of people think it is about him living under a bridge during his childhood, and although it may seem like it, that is not what this song is about. This song is about feeling alienated, as this is how he felt and how a lot of teenagers felt.
