| Foals – Milk & Black Spiders Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| I interpret to just mean he's been around and come back to the same conclusion. I think the fact that he sings two times specifically might not necessarily mean too much. Could just be a number that fits well, dunno. Or maybe he has specifically been around two times and found that his love is still in the same spot. | |

Absolutely wonderful. Reminiscent of whale song, to me. I think the meaning tangled in this song is fairly self explanatory. One my personal favourites off the record. |

| AFI – The Leaving Song Pt. 2 Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
What did he build? And what is destroying, or about to destroy him? How does that fit with the idea of reincarnation? That isn't a critical question, I'm genuinely interested what people's thoughts are. Fuck AFI are incredibly intelligent and deep. Reading through many interpretations and watching film clips, etc. it really resonates a deep, dark, anxious feeling through your waters. Undoubtedly one of the greatest bands of a generation. 9 years later and this song still drives me crazy. Simply amazing. |

| The Gaslight Anthem – Boxer Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| The lyric is "And your tattooed knuckles, oh how they grind down", not 'tied two knuckles up'. Dunno how that could even be interpreted that way. | |
| The Gaslight Anthem – Here Comes My Man Lyrics | 13 years ago |

Yea man, absolutely. Upon further listens and after reading the other thoughts on this song, I can see that it's being sung from the woman's perspective. And I think that's really what threw me off. I can't think of any other songs off the top of my head, where they're being sung from the perspective of a woman, or other person. Really seemed to confuse me to begin with, seemed like such a strange concept. Initially that is what I thought was happening, but because it was strange to me, I figured I was wrong, ha. And yes, hopefully TGA don't do an AM! thing. I mean, all respect to Tom, or Laura - I'm still somewhat unsure how to address him/her - but I'm a massive TGA fan and it'd just be too strange if Fallon went down that path. I mean, I've got a freaking portrait tattoo of the man, haha. |

| Yea that's fair. I can definitely see that too. | |

This song somewhat confuses me. I'm not sure, but from the first few listens and attempts at interpretation, the story's being told from the perspective of a woman, whose man doesn't appear to appreciate her and kind of mucks things around a bit and she eventually gets sick of it. Not totally sure what the chorus represents, "Listen Honey, here comes my man." First impressions are that the woman is saying that to another, different man, or saying it to her current man, when she finds love with the aforementioned. Dunno. But if it's the former, it kind of blows my original interpretation out of the water. But whatever, another solid record from the finest band in the Universe, although I must say, not as good as the rest they've produced. |

| The Gaslight Anthem – Great Expectations Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Albeit this thread is years old now, I often like to revisit and scroll through this website. My opinion to this question however, is not that the implication is "why didn't you leave, like the rest?" but more, expecting this person to leave. "Everybody leaves and why, why wouldn't you?" As in to say, no real surprise there due to it happening before, perhaps time and time again, as implied by the lyrics. | |
| The Horrible Crowes – Black Betty & The Moon Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Both comments are fairly well on track. It's about friends selling their friends out for their own benefit. Not all the lyrics by the way. There are other parts of the song that explain this a little better as well. Amazing album. |

Does anyone know what he's singing at the start of the track? Fucking amazing song. Best off the record. The outro is absolutely chilling. I hate to use this word, but it's fuckin' epic. |

| The Horrible Crowes – Sugar Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Long story short, I think this song is basically about a girl who never truly loved the guy. A girl who more or less, was a bit of a tramp, who fooled around with other guys. And then when he confronted her about issues, she tried to play him like the fool, but it was so obvious that he knew the truth of the matter. "No, that's not the way it goes" "But it is, don't lie. I've seen the curl up around your smile" Absolutely amazing song. Been streaming this album non-stop. This song in particular. |

| Alkaline Trio – We Can Never Break Up Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Despite the general happiness of this song, it really reaches out. Besides, Alkaline Trio, in particular Dan, have written love songs before, so it's not all that unusual. The first verse is adorable though. Pretty clear about the meaning. Helped me through trouble times. Best band ever. | |
