I totally agree with you. Our own intrepratations are really just a way of expressing ourselves and our hidden emotions. I think that most people think its about rebelling against the government because that's what they want to do themselves. |

I always thought that this song is about an emotional, determined, hardworking, person feeling overshadowed by that type of person who's emotionless, can succeed at anything without even trying and pretends to be good and caring to please people. While the first person is seemingly the evil one from the lyrics, it's really all about reputation. The first person seems to be the second person's best friend on the surface but is really the only one who sees the evil in the second person. This "best friend" is probably suffering from some kind of inferiority complex. I also think that the whole government theory can apply, too. Maybe that's what the two people are supposed to represent. |
