Comment to all who call it "generic": No, generic is that bull they play about strippers, dancing, being, ahem, thugs, having "swagger" [which is actually just overconfidence in yourself, pompous and self centered, people are proud of this now?], yeah all that dumb...eh, crap. I'm sick of it! THIS music has meaning behind it. And I'm GLAD that I don't have to hear it in every other song played on the mainstream radio. Musical meanings are best in...rations? Can't think of the word I wanted to use. But all I mean is that variety is good, yeah we don't want to hear the same thing over and over just differently worded. |

First corrections: Looming doubts, not living Mass of, not massive All of Max's songs are very deep in meaning, he is truely a lyrical genius. The red cat and yellow cat I presume would symbolize opposing sides [race, gang, country, et cetera.] and he see's them fight but doesn't bother attempting to stop them because, well, what can he do? Fighters will fight for what they belive, whether it be right or not. His "cousin Greg" is a lonesome person who sits around and watches life go by, scoffing at and mimiking the stupid things that make him laugh. This is what he does because he doesn't know what else to do and he "relies" on it. "You will not yank the carpet out" is his way of saying that you can't change what he is and what he does. "These are my friends this is who they have been for always, theses are my days this is how they stay." This is the world this is what people are and always will be. This is how we live and it will not change. The "dude" in the same place each night creating and crumpling up would, I would think, besomeone who is trying to find a way to say to the world how we live[the basic song meaning] and "his eyes are wide from sipping endlessly his endless coffee cup" is him trying constantly to put the world into words. But the attempt is neverending. But not for Max. :] "Lou is bugged, shot up with drugs, sweats this bird he hardly knows. All that he wants is to see someone he respects without their clothes. So like some hybrid mother (slash) lover, she'd sooth and heal his wounds. And kiss those dying ears so softly that the reaper stops to swoon." He wants somebody to actually care and comfort him, rather than just constant one-night-stands. He wants too be loved so deeply that he can basically laugh in death's [the Reaper's] face.
