California Gulrs is outrageous. Usually the Hot Dance Airplay line-up does not really grab my attention but California Gurls jumped out of the set. For this reason, I think it is more about the video than the song; although, Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg are impressive song writers/performers my hat goes off to the production team here! Featuring a talented splice of sweet Cali. gurls that breaks the hamy Valley girl mould baked in the '80s American vintage, Katy and friends demonstrate that LA is not only hotter than NY, they also teach us that the West coast has also 'grown' up a lot faster than their East coast cousins ... who, to say the least cannot even come out to play on the beach in winter! Snoop dog is righton the money: Tone, tan, fit, and ready Turn it up 'cause it's gettin' heavy Wild, wild, West coast These are the girls I love the most If you are still jaded about this song then take another look at Katy vs. Gummy Bears ... it is halarious. |

Protocon, Good explanation. Not only does it keep with the written imagery, it also fits with the song's style and verse. People often watch the film clip for an explanation, but sometimes the directors of music videos are not quite on track with finding meanings about the songs. I think, now, that "the man with the suit and the case" was the trial lawyer who showed evidence against the scientist, about the creation, in a court of law. Anyhow, the movie for this song would have one believe something different. It almost seems like Morocco where a high criminal, looking for his lost partner in crime, finds her dead at the hotel and then takes off with the 'gold'. Cheers |
