| Unless you mean that a lot of their new songs are epxlicitly against Jesus, you're a dumbass. Just look at Prayer Position, or if you want really new, Sacrilege, or in the video for Medicate, you can notice Davey's upside-down cross on a chain. If you think they're against Jesus and you have a problem with that, you're a jackass and you should probably pick up a DC Talk album instead. | |

If it's about Jesus then it's rather derogatory in its end: What's the hook, the twist, within this verbose mystery? I would gladly bet my life upon it That the ghost you love, your ray of light will fizzle out Without hope We're the empty set, just flowing through, wrapped in skin Ever-searching for what we were promised Reaching for that golden ring we'd never let go But who would ever let us put our filthy hands upon it? You're "god" is fake and will "fizzle out." You reach for heaven, "that golden ring", but with so many ways to get there and only one can be right, and with all the restrictions religion places, how do you get there? "Who would ever let us put our filthy hands upon it" The chorus could be about how Jesus "gave his life" and was immortalized in Christianity. If he did the same can he "make beauty stay if I take my life"... All this being said, I'm not so sure that it is another antitheistic song, but more along the lines of a conclusion of "Kiss and Control" and "Summer Shudder" with the ending bridge being about how we're told to idolize these celebrities and emulate them but, in those high social ranks, we are just shit. That glamorous life isn't as glamorous as it's spun to be. |

Bad news... they're atheists. If it's about Jesus then it's rather derogatory in its end: What's the hook, the twist, within this verbose mystery? I totally agree with ka11itkarma. It seems written from a "fan"s perspective up until the very last line, where he seems to ask the fans, "who's next? You think that nobody evolves?" Of course there's the really easy idea of a relationship gone to shit and just wanting to kick the dead weight, but isn't that how the pre-STS fans feel? |
