Frank Ocean – Novacane Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Right, but I think there's another level of meaning too. Frank is also be commenting on the music of today and its lack of feeling. "Pitch-corrected," "zero emotion," are a few choice phrases for this description. This model broad could act as a metaphor for the music business that welcomes him with open arms "handed me an ice-blue bong" but soon leads him on and leaves him with nothing "can't feel a thing." |
Foster the People – Pumped Up Kicks Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Totally know what you mean. We want to root for the underdog, but the other side of us says not to. This song protagonizes an antihero of sorts. |
De La Soul – Brainwashed Follower Lyrics | 14 years ago |
You just said it my man, REAL art lasts forever! |
Sting – Big Lie, Small World Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I agree with DesertRose 98, but I also think this song is about the perils of indecisiveness. The narrator "changes his tune" midway through the song, and it leads him on a disheartening escapade missing the bus/train, assaulting a mailman/the lover, and eventually "facing the magistrate". I think the message of this song is to never be on the fence, to go through with something without having second thoughts. |
Bob Dylan – Big Yellow Taxi (Joni Mitchell cover) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I have no input on the song. However, I just wanted to add, you know it is a good song if BOB DYLAN covers it! |
