| The All-American Rejects – Gives You Hell Lyrics

I think it's obviously a direct message to someone who broke his heart at a younger age, probably because she thought he (assuming the song is written from the singers point of view) wasn't going to make it anywhere in life, and left him for someone with a promising future. Now, he hardly has to do anything besides rock out every once in a while, and all in all has an easier life than the uniform, "successful" person with that promising future. The singer wants to rub it in that he's successful, while the heartbreaker lives a mediocre life instead of what she could have had with him. I say it's a direct message because of the line, "When you hear this song, and sing along, but never tell. Hope it gives you hell...etc." I personally picture the "heartbreaker" singing the song with a stressed look on her face with her peers, knowing that the song is directly about her, but everyone around her thinks its just a song, if I said that right haha.
On a side note, LOVE this song. It's that song every guy wants to sing to that one &*#$% from their teen years. Catchy, and that rock out feeling to it. :D |

I think the beginning of this song at least refers directly to someone realizing that they haven't lived their life to the fullest. Counting the hours your awake, and at night you do the same thing, meaning basically you don't have much to do during the day, looking forward to sleep and the next day, but when you go to sleep you find yourself tossing and turning and not being able to sleep obviously. The "drug" is basically another chance, but that's my thoughts. Give me another chance to live the rest of my life the way I should've been living it all along. |

The "I can hear the Devil call my name" would be related to Suicide, as "Dance with the Devil", another song of BB's, portrays the Devil as Death. |

Yea, it's about doing everything you can to make sure your happy now, because anything can happen, and it could make you just "One Day Too Late". Forgiving enemies, helping those not-so-fortunate ones, and most of all, doing everything you can to make your personal/love life happy. This song definitely relates to me...as of Thursday, I was going to ask a girl out, and apparently so was another kid. I waited for a month, and he waited a week. This song isn't JUST an amazing song to listen to, it's what you SHOULD do. |

Ok, a lot of you totally missed the point of this song haha. Suprisingly, this is one of the few songs I understood on my own. Anyways, it's about a couple, who's love was so strong, they were afraid of losing it, so the man killed the woman. But then...he uhh, kept her body preserved, with make up and everything, and proceeded to rape her dead body over and over. And somehow, she comes back and stabs him too, so they can be together in the afterlife. Then, they get married in the afterlife and live happily ever after. Now THAT'S a love story.
"She was never this good in bed
Even when she was sleepin'.
Now she's just so perfect I've
Never been quite so fucking deep in.
It goes on and on and on.
I can keep you lookin' young and preserved forever,
With a fountain to spray on your youth whenever.
Cause I really always knew that my little crime
Would be cold; that's why I got a heater for your thighs"
That explains the whole "raping dead body" part. |

This song is about the media screwing up their lives. They make up stories and stupid stuff about them, hence "Lie about my life // Have a story to tell" I think that that quote is the most powerful one in this whole song, as it pretty much explains the whole plot. The media makes up lies, and if they had the chance, they would tell the truth. |

I'm almost certain someone had mentioned this, but I'm not reading over 200 comments to make sure. So, all I know about this song, is the "He who makes a beast out of himself, gets rid of the pain of being a man". That derived from a man a few thousand years back. I forget who...but yea, it was from some guy. haha |

I hate how so many people ONLY listen to this song from BB. It's not one of their greatest, and the radio stations out by me ALWAYS play this song. I hate how people go "Have you heard of Breaking Benjamin?" And their first response is "Aren't they the band that sung I Will Not Bow?" If your going to listen to a band, and say they're good, you must listen to a few songs, not just one, come on now. |

It's about a girl who's suicidal, whom he cares about deeply. The whole "dance with the devil" thing, represents death, as suicide. Kind of like playing with fire, only dancing with death, if that makes sense. Anyways, It's about someone he cares about at least, if not a girl, because he says "feeling your cold, dead eyes // stealing the life of mine" The helplessness of the person he is trying to help is derpessing him also. The whole "easy to find whats wrong // harder to find whats right" part shows how that person is feeling deep depressional thoughts, and as he tries to help them, they only get worse. |

It's about how he used to have a really strong relationship with a girl, which the bond that they shared faded over time. Now he's tried to find "the fire in her eyes"; re-ignite that compassionate love they once had, so they can be happy again. But he knows she just doesn't care as much as she used to, and she "left a hole where my heart should be". |
