| I feel lucky to be the first one to comment. The song has a very deep meaning. If we listen and hum the song, it feels more like a narration of a story of a couple where the muse drowns herself, selfishly, and the poet who is deeply in love is now left alone. And as he lives his life, trying to get over her but couldn't really get over her, he feels that the only way to really get over it is to know the reason exactly caused her death. So he thinks of a witch, who must have pulled his love to drown. But one day, he sees his love and she takes him by the lake and since both are in love very much, the poet drowns himself too. The actual meaning is about getting over a relationship, which is extremely tough. And there are at times you think so much about it that even in dreams you see or meet your ex, I have seen my ex so many times... But she is very much alive and seeing someone else. I get super J. It’s about a relationship. When one partner, may be the guy, is getting the idea that his love will not stand. Perhaps he is realizing that his love, the girl, is not serious about the relation. The words used in the song hold a lot of weight and the song is really heavy to understand. My special part of the song is “The dance of flame and shadows in the street, Make poetry nobody's ever heard, The weight of loneliness stands on your feet, The cage already there around the bird”. I see myself in this. I was in the same phase, when my relationship was coming to an end. It was like just looking at really small things like a shadow or a street lamp and these small things suddenly get an importance value, as if they are the witness of the phase you are going through. Other sentences like “So why do we keep up this charade, And how do we tell apart the time to leave from the time to wait“, are getting annoyed about things, if we had fall in love and had to reach at this level where we have to break it, then why do we choose the time to leave or the time to wait in a relationship. A great song with a never ending depth. Extremely heavy to understand but definitely would give you a high. Worth a drink while listening to it. |

| The song is a great lyrical effort. It talks about a relationship which is strong within but has lost the value and it demands a change. The kind of change which would make both the partners realize about the relationship which will make it strong. The great part is "what is this chill at my heel..." means whatever assumptions which were made for the relationship to go at a level, everything is absolutely nothing "tearing my eutopian fiction" is something what they dreamt of and it has just passed along. They need a change which will make them more strong. | |

I am listening to it as I am writing this. I read a lot about the album Twilight Theater and it is considered as Marko's best performance of his career so is the bands. Given and Denied is a lovely piece of sound which appears in the album. When I heard this song for the first time, it made me hear it again and again, thrice and fourth time before I went to next song. The song has a charismatic melody which flows parallel with its lyrics. Being a visual guy, I can imagine what words have to mean. The songs talks about, we as humans, realize a lot of things in life that we know but we missed it with time and would want to go back and be in the moment. Sometimes, subconsciously, we love to be at a place, or a direction, or people, or the past where we feel complete. I love the way where it goes: Oh to see the sun's eclipse on the horizon like ships sailing way away from here Oh just one more time my dear Before I'll go hear me out Cos of this there ain't no doubt When it's time for curtain call Just before the shadows... This is where I want to be, where I can see the suns eclipse, on a horizon of ships and before I go, I want be here… Fall like a leaf in the wind on the ocean Of blue like your eyes in the twilight theater With symphonies playing in the world without sound We're given and denied It is complex, extreme to get it. Need to be in the song, it will take you to a place which you know, but you haven’t ever been to, where you feel complete. Great lyrical effort, one of the best compositions I’ve ever heard from Poets. They are gods, the words are so heavy and meaningful. The song is new to me everytime I listen to it. Awesome song. |
