The lines in this song are so eloquently written, all the lines about the hospital and how everyone really feels there and the anxiety and pain that comes with it all. Anything ben gibbard does steals my heart, but this is one of my favorites. | |

this song is about the lead singer brian's ex-girlfriend. when they were young she got pregnant, he pressured her into getting an abortion, and he later felt guilty about it. he was young so he didn't know better, the girl never killed herself, it just artistically enhanced the song.
