Circa Survive – Spirit Of The Stairwell Lyrics 15 years ago
Pulled this from an old tweet by Anthony:
singing the saddest song i ever wrote today about the effects of a miscarriage on a relationship. -a 4:17 PM Oct 22nd, 2009 via web

So perhaps it isn't necessarily about him and Meredith, as we already know Annie is his mother in law...either way, this song is beautiful, and terribly sad, but that's what makes it a great song. It's one of my favorites on this album.

This is definitely in my top three favorites off of Blue Sky Noise. ;) The intro is gorgeous, everything about this song is great.<3

Of course, many are going to feel that - that the RECORD label made them change their sound. But we'll never really know for sure if it's true, won't we? It's not like Circa can go confessing in magazine interviews things like, "Yeah, we wanted to go in this direction with the album, but Atlantic made us do this instead." I dunno, maybe it's because I myself am not in the music industry and am therefore naive on this subject, but I find it hard to believe that a label can make a band do anything that the band themselves is comfortable doing.

Basically, I think anything we hear on this album was a consensual agreement between the label and the band. But this is just me.

I do see that POV in the lyrics though, and it is an interesting take on it.

Really? I actually love this song. It's one of my favorites off of Blue Sky Noise and I feel it's an amazing opener to the album. But, everyone has their own opinon, of course.

Circa Survive – The Glorious Nosebleed Lyrics 15 years ago
Shit, I meant to say....that "The Glorious Nosebleed" is a short story by Edward Gorey...not that this song was used in that short story...yeah...I worded it wrong. :P

According to wikipedia, this song is also a short story by Edward Gorey. I've never read it before, but maybe it has some sort of relevance to this song's meaning? Just throwing some stuff out there...
