| Sparklehorse – Wish You Were Here (Pink Floyd cover) Lyrics

I don't think we should compare this version to Pink Floyd's original version, cause they are both so different. Let's not forget it is damn hard to cover Pink Floyd and in my opinion Sparklehorse & Radiohead did a good job. They've put so much feeling into it, it's so fragile.. makes it almost painful to listen to. |

I feel like this is about the pain of past relationships making their way into new ones.. It could even be him telling himself not to be afraid anymore. Cause it seems like he is so stuck on the fact that his former lover couldn't love him that he pushes away anyone else that might come close to making him so vulnerable again. |

I think it's clearly about how close they got to having a baby. And how that made her happy in a way:
And once I tried to make a life
To keep myself in yours
She's hoping this guy will stay with her if they're having a baby together. |

I think the lyrics, the chorus in particular, are sarcastic. I think they're sung in a knowing, mocking tone. |

| Damien Rice – Older Chests Lyrics

'The "Older Chests" represent furniture that is cheap and falls apart. It represents our culture's lack of appreciation for things. Then the song goes into how we don't appreciate anything anymore. We own all these things and don't even appreciate what we have: "too many books, read me your favorite line" - we have so many books that we don't even know what they're about or have time to read them. '
Beautiful interpretation, one of Damien's most touching songs. |

I agree with almost everything that is said here. It's so amazing, I learn from each and everyone of you every single day. Here goes my interpretation of the song.
I feel like he's cheated on the other person, probably his girlfriend. He tries to make up with her but the distance between them is still there and will probably remain forever; he can not fix this. |

I feel like this song is about the depression involved in realizing that there is no future in a relationship; she needs to move on. I'm pretty sure she is talking to herself. Though I like how she is using the word 'you', almost as if she is angry at herself for assuming the boy could really love her. |

I think that 'deryk' is right; these lyrics express the cosy feeling you get during winter time, when you're all wrapped up sitting in front of the fireplace with the one you love, drinking hot chocolate. |

I think it's pretty clear these lyrics kind of sum up Andy Warhol's life. Also I do feel like the sentence 'He could drop the marh' should be 'He could drop the math' and not marh or meh or meth or whatever. |

This song obviously is about the guilt of cheating on someone while being in a long-distance relationship and trying to make him or her know that your love for the person never ended. |
