I havent listened to this song in such a long time, I think I was in grade school when it came out, ha, but i seen someone post some of the lyrics on Facebook and I started listening to it all over again and it fits mah current situation . To me the songs talking about me being with someone that still has baggage from there past realationship . Like here I'll break it down . "I know when he's been on your mind That distant look is in your eyes I thought with time you'd realize it's over, over" Right here he's talking about he see's that she's thinking about him alot, and she still cares about him and he thought in the begining from talking to her that she'd be able to realize that its over and move on, but she hasn't yet . "It's not the way I choose to live And something's somewhere's got to give As sharing this relationship get's over, over" Right here he's talking about he doesn't want to share her with another guy which is what he feels like he's doing because her mindset and part of her heart is still in the past, and he's kinda getting tired of it "You know i'd fight for you but how can I fight someone who isn't even there I've had the rest of you, now I want the best of you I don't care if that's not fair" When he say's yu know I'd fight for yu but how can I fight someone who isn't even there" To me he's talking about her mindset her heart isn't in it, he wants to fight the realationship, but if she's not in it, how can he fight for it . IF yu get what I'm saying . and then he's talking about he has her, now he wants the best, he wants her to put in effort if she wants to be with him . and she might not think its fair because he knows the situation, The Chourus is self-explanitory "There are times it seems to me I'm sharing you in memories I feel it in my heart but I don't show it, show it" HE saying here that he's sharing her with her past, because like in the verses before he feels like she's not all the way there with him, like she's stuck in her past . He jsut doesn't say anything . And then there's times you look at me As though i'm all that you can see Those times I don't believe it's right, I know it, know it Right here he's talking about at times when she looks at him, it feels like he's the only one, and that there isn't anyone else But then again he knows he's not right . but yeaa, i think yall can figure out the rest . |
