| While I can see how you percieved this song to be about a Christian and Christ, this song s very Marian, and looks like it is derived from the MAGNIFIcat, the canticle of Mary. The second verse could have been inspired by the lines, "My soul glorifies the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God, my Savior." Also the lines, "And sing whatever song you wanted me to// I give you back my voice//From the womb my first cry, it was a joyful noise" is similar to Mary's fiat, the annunciation which she called herself the, "Handmaid of the Lord". The Second half is the Birth of Jesus. Mary, in awe would say love leaving a mark as God(Love), leaving a mark on the world(Jesus). | |
