| The Cinematic Orchestra – To Build A Home Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| A boy grows up in a house to loving parents. Time passes, and the boy goes out to make something of himself. The road is hard, the boy is alone, and he hangs on to those faded memories when they were together, hoping one day things could go back to the way they were. The boy comes back, but finds - one way or another - things can never be the same. But to him, the house will always be home. | |

| Nick Drake – Poor Boy Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Undoubtedly a reflection of Nick's troubles finding love. I heard "how steep my stairs" as "how I steal my stares". In other words, his stares at women. Not sure which one is right. |

| Beck – Broken Train Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
The song describes a messed up society, likely our own. This is what Beck calls the "broken train". Snipers are called in to enforce a corrupt government, but since they have no sense of duty they just get drunk and pass out in the bushes. The society kicks out its protesters, hence the "bra burning deportees". The ultra rich hand themselves lavish kickbacks, such as the "platinum pensions" Beck refers to. Meanwhile, there's an insane disparity between rich and poor, which Beck portrays by "Ghettos and Grey Rivieras" |
