They could be comparing a modern society with maybe a tribe or community that still believes in witchcraft and voodoo practises. To me I think this song is about a girl who lets guys push her about…perhaps she’s a victim of domestic abuse or something but when people try to help her she denies it and says she’s in ‘love’ to try and hide her true feelings or fool herself into thinking that’s how relationships are meant to be. The narrator is trying to help her realise that what’s she’s doing that she shouldn’t just ‘give give her heart away’ to anyone or nothing will be left to give when she really does find someone to love who’ll love her back. My favourite line is; "And its love that you want but not love that you make." I think this line is referring to the girl’s sexual relationship with the guy. He wants the relationship for sex but she wants the relationship to be able to care and hold someone and for that person to do the same back. “Just try to get up, you've gotta slowly brush off. I know that words aren't enough, but you're better than this” I think this is saying that the girl tries to recover from the bad relationships and tries to move on but keeps making the same mistake. Other people are telling her that she could do better but she doesn’t believe them. That’s what I think about the song XD great song one I can totally relate to its so beautiful. The words, the singer, the music…it all fits together beautifully. |

Here I reckon the guy has realised that his ideal relationship with this girl isn't going to happen and loses his temper or something and hit the girl or does something bad in temper. The knife in her back is symbolising how betrayed she feels and lying dead in my room symbolises that she doesn't know what to feel anymore the person she trusted or 'loved' has just used her and because it wasn't going his way he ended the relationship. She feels empty or better off dead. Short story, this tragic ending, The missing link in the chain of events, That have occurred gravely throughout the years. You will not die with me. |

I think the song is about the singer having a strong connection with another person or in love with them and does what everyone else wants them to do just to be with the one they love but feels trapped in being so and not being able to be themself and this is turning them into something they aren't (freak on a leash) when they realise that the person they love is only using them for sex (a cheap fuck for me to lay) and the singer feels like ending their life (do you wanna see the light...sometimes i cannot take this place...sometimes it's my life I can taste which could mean his blood) and no matter how hard this person tries to escape or try to change people take whatever they can or manipulate him (something takes a part of me) and the person just gives up and stays trapped (feeling like a freak on a leash, feeling like I have no release)Â Well that's what I think this song means hope it helps XD |
