| The Color Fred – If I Surrender Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Is it just me, or does this song sound like it could be about sex? When I think about the lyrics, this song describes my sex life. "Im Gonna Choke When It Really Counts" -whenever I almost have a chance to get laid, something goes wrong "Im Gonna Get Kicked When Im Down" -one rejection after another adds insult to injury "Ill Give You So Much Satisfaction Youll Drown In It, In It" -if these girls ever gave me a chance, I'd satisfy them "And All This Fighting Will Amount To Nothing More You Bend To Break, I Did It Before" -I end up fighting with the girl instead of having sex, and this has happened before "Is It Gonna To Be Easier Is It Gonna Be More Than I Can Take If I Surrender, If I Surrender" -Things would probably be easier if I gave up on getting laid, but going without sex would be more than I can take "Ill give you so much satisfaction youll blame yourself for once" -If she ever gave me a chance and I satisfied her, maybe she would finally blame herself for not giving me a chance sooner. "Apologize for what I never did My darkest secrets and everything I hid" -Even though I did nothing wrong, I apologize after we fight because I hope my apology will help me get laid. "Ill give you so much satisfaction youll quit your complaining But I know you never will" -I wish the girl would stop complaining about me, but she never will. "They took from you all they could get You hold on tight to what is left Youll never give up like you used to" -The one time I had sex, all the girl cared about was taking my virginity. But I hold onto what little self-respect I have left. I used to give up on girls, but I don't want to give up anymore. "You hold on, what did you expect?" -I should have seen this coming, but I didn't. So I doubt this is what Fred had in mind when he wrote the song, but this is what I got out of it. |

| The All-American Rejects – The Last Song Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I think there's a reason they put this song at the end of their album (hence the title "The Last Song"). Think of their album as a story where this song is the ending. If there's anything you should get out of the album, it's the message behind this song. All the other songs tell a story of heartbreak and love, but this song is slightly different. It shows how he finally got over a girl that broke his heart and he's ready to move on. He might even be happy he's no longer with her because she clearly didn't appreciate him. But at the same time, he's hoping she'll listen to this song and realize what a big mistake she made. When this song was written, she wanted someone better than Tyson (you wanted the best but it wasn't me). Now that he's rich and famous she's probably wishing she stayed with him! |

| The All-American Rejects – My Paper Heart Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Please just don't play with me My paper heart will bleed This wait for destiny won't do Be with me, please I beseech you Simple things that make you run away Catch you if I can I think this part is saying he's interested in a girl but he's unsure if she has feelings for him. He doesn't want to be led on and he just wants to find out if she's interested. He wants to tell her how he feels because he's tired of waiting but he's worried she'll run away if he tells her. Tears fall down your face The taste is something new I know moving on is Easiest when I am around you I think they both had a former relationship which led to heartbreak. He is ready to move on and he wants to be with her but she's not over the old relationship yet. So bottle up old love And throw it out to sea Watch it away as you cry A year has passed The seasons go I think he's saying they need to let go of their old love because it's been a year. Waiting, day goes through My lips are sealed for her My tongue is tied to a treaty with you Settling for less is not what I'd prefer When he says my lips are sealed for her I think that means he doesn't want anyone else and he just wants to kiss her. He could survive without her, but that's not what he prefers. Summertime The night's so long The leaves fall down So do I to the arms of a friend Winter nights, my bedside is cold For I am gone The spring blossoms you to me The spring blossoms you to me No matter what happens, he will always have his friend's arms to fall into. However, he really wants to be with this girl so he feels lonely without her (my bedside is cold). He's hoping that by Springtime, she will fall for him and they will be together. |
