After reading the other comments, it wouldn't be surprising if this song was about the said miscarriage of anthony's wife. although it also seems perhaps an abortion? This song opens up such a wide window of other possible meanings if we don't put it with Anthony's life. Leaving someone in a relationship because you both know it's time that it ends. |

This was my first favorite song from the album and still is after listening to is over and over and over again. The song isn't hard to figure out the meaning of. This is clearly about how the author of the song is free from a relationship but it goes much deeper into how they felt in the end of the relationship. Perhaps the person they were in the relationship with made them feel stuck, or they allowed themselves to feel that way. Eventually they found the strength to break from the relationship even though they knew it would be difficult. They were happy but they needed more. Overall, it really is a positive song, they know that love is still possible and that there is a future. |
