| I am reading a lot of confusion about the word "quarterback" in this song. It's so weird because when I heard the song for the first time it made perfect sense to me! I'm currently living this song out and in my opinion, what she means when she says "it's a Half life with you as my quarterback" is that she is kind of his cheerleader (no pun intended). She is always rooting for him and putting him on a pedestal, yet it's only a half life because she is unfulfilled. He is not giving her that sense of completeness. That's what I like to pretend anyway. | |
