To me , it somes up how I felt when I was in my teens (but thankfully , even though I contemplated ending it, I never did.....its amazing what 20 years has done to my wise old head) The expectation that is thrust upon you by your peers, when you are at a major crossroads in your life (so many important decisions that you have to make) The expectation that you are going to know which decisions are the right ones, and all the while those very same peers are pushing you for answers and decisions. Its about frustration, indecision, pressure, that leads ultimately to the thought of just finishing it all |

Just round this single again after years of it hiding at the bottom of a drawer. Loved it when it was released and love it now. I find it even more relevant now I'm married, yet every now and then find myself thinking back to old relationships (even ones where the girl dumped on me big time) I think this is about a chance meeting with a first love , then getting nostalgic and thinking back to the time when they first met (in this case at secondary/ high school) The the subsequent feelings of shall I /shant I (ie should they try to pick up where they finished) despite the bad ending at the time. Its song about reminiscence (apologies for the spelling) and contemplation, a song about moving on. |
