Yeah the reference is obvious, don't see how no one commented this earlier. But the weird thing is that The Devil Wears Prada's "Dez Moines" is also about how people can sometimes be using a religious image without truly understanding it. The line "Fall to your knees..." is a reference to what people are doing blindly actually. So it's kind of confusing that Blessthefall would use that line to say TDWP is commanding you to do so. The band claims they don't listen to TDWP but, come on, this song is so like them, and "God Wears Gucci"? It makes things sound as if the song was about The Devil Wears Prada directly, not about infomercials. The part that I don't get is why are they criticizing a band with a song that is trying to pass a similar message. |
