This song is definitely about death, but I think it mught also have to do with wasting life and being afraid of achieving your goals or making an impact before your time is up. "Call the wind the theif for stealing their prayers" - putting the blame on someone else for not getting what you want in life. "Look at us shake the sky" - Making your mark in the world. "And as the hands are spinning, they're waving you goodbye" - like escapeyourself said, the clock is counting down how long you have left to get where you want. "As we sleep, we walk" - although we are concious and alive, we are completely oblivious and might as well be asleep, we aren't doing anything with life, as if we're hibernating. "Can't awake the ones who live this life (not on our own) because people are the same (we are the same) only habitats change (habitats change) - you can't change the way people want to live their life because they always have the same habits and the same way of doing things, i.e. wasting life. "I swear, i felt you crawling under my skin" - The annoyance that people feel about others wasting life. "Forget the man in the mountains, follows you" - the "man" represents death and how there's no way to avoid it, so stop waiting for it to come and spend your time doing something worthwhile. This is just my interpretation of the song, so sorry if it sounds stupid :) |
