I believe this song is about how fake and shallow some women can become when it comes to appearence, and they totally disregard trying to become anything of themselves, just a trophy to be marvaled at. "If you swallow the bait with a bottle of wine you can live like a queen in the open wound of a pretty smile.." This is saying how women would want to be glamorous, forget about morals and what really matters, and just follow whatever the magazines tell them is beautiful. They'll become someone else just to be accepted by society. A smile is referred to as a wound, 'cause in the end you're not going to be truly happy. |
