| Al Green – Stay With Me (By The Sea) Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I've always loved this song because it has such a sound to it that only Al Green can do, but I can't describe it. It's got a peaceful warm and dreamy feel, just like you would feel if you were at the beach and by the sea. The lyrics always interested me because they're so unique from your typical love song. The first verse makes you think that he's singing about being with his sweetheart and they're just out for a late night stroll. You hear him say that it's not that late and asking her to stay, but then it becomes apparent he doesn't mean for the night. The woman has left him and he's saying it's not too late, we can still try, so why'd you leave me? The next verse with John Legend basically says "you're the only who tries, the only one like you, so how could you say goodbye?" The third verse says the same thing, asking her to stay and also is saying "am I the only one you see or is there someone else?" Beautiful song. It takes a new spin on the typical love song in the smooth, laid-back, but still very emotional style of Al Green and John Legend. Instead of a strong, loud sad vocal, it's kind of calm, almost dazed like their entranced by their love. |

| Keane – Everybody's Changing Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I feel like the song is about everyone changing while you're staying the same, but it's more of wishing things could stay how they used to be. The song is upbeat in contrast to the lyrics being sad and melancholy because the music represents a happy upbeat time, but if you listen you kind of get a nostalgic feeling from it like something long past, like a memory of you being in school and the fun you had but knowing you could never go back. I feel like the lyrics are relating to other people who have experienced memories they love but are now facing change. It can be heart breaking, and sometimes you do things you're not proud of, things that aren't true to your real 'self' just to "stay in the game." you try to keep up and "remember your name" but it's like being torn from the things you loved and the world you live in changing. To me it speaks about the choice of staying in the game, or remembering your name, and maybe trying to do both. Great song, very moving. I love it |
