His voice is absolute perfection. To me, this song has to do with the fear and reluctance of letting yourself fall in love or admitting to yourself or to the other person that you are. Especially where he says "And i've never known a world where someone like me could fall down to only be caught, dont know how you turned on the light but now i can see". It's like he's singing about the regret of letting yourself go too late- that he took the "leap" too late- and losing that special person because of that reluctance and now has to move on. It's an extremely beautiful song and one of my favourites off of the newest album, without a doubt! |

I completely agree, floed. That's what i thought he meant too. He never wanted to get attatched and didnt want to commit, therfore he would only have one night stands - he was being an assassin because he wasnt returning the feelings others had for him and was instead "breaking their hearts". But eventually this one girl comes around and changes everything. Not by cheating on him or by playing the same game, but by stealing his heart and getting him to care for her which is what he never wanted and was trying to avoid all along. She became the assassin because she completely ruined his plan and what he stood for by stealing his heart. |
