This is my favorite song by Vega4! cherryblossom11 is exactly right about this song wishing the one who hurt you felt the same pain, but that's almost never the case. A heart never breaks even, right? The imagery I get when I listen to this song is amazing. You can hear the emotion in his voice when he sings, "You lit me up and hit me like bullets." I can completely relate to this song and how sick and twisted it feels to love the pieces of your ex left in you even though they want nothing to do with you. It's like when you loved someone so insanely much that even though they ripped out your heart, the good memories of them still make you happy and the experiences you had together have made you a completely different person. While you still love the past, you have a sort of hatred for what they've done to you and you wish that you'd left the same scar that they did on you. One line I can really relate to is, "I'm pretty good at honesty. This is causing me trouble." Not everyone appreciates honesty and even though you're completely honest with this person doesn't mean they'll reciprocate or even care that you always told them the truth. It causes trouble and will almost always end badly, but for the better.

This song doesn't really specify what happened between the two, but it almost seems like he's given up caring about the relationship and isn't sorry about that because of something she did "Lonely eyes I cannot trust." He says there's nothing he can do to change what happens because she is the one who has to decide to throw it away or not. He feels bad for how she feels now, "And I'll pretend to love you for the fear of breaking you," but he's still bitter "Well don't you feel ashamed when the light begins to fade on the one thing you thought you knew," and "It's crystal clear so tell me why can't you see?" Seems like he's trying to be a gentleman about the situation while fighting back urges to hurt her back.

Seems like the two have been separated for three months, presumably because she is unsure of the relationship. He can't stop thinking about her and he's reminiscing about what they had and saying it wasn't so bad. He felt like all love was dead inside him, yet he still desires to be with her because she was the only one who mattered to him and understood him.

Obviously this guy is desperately looking for love. "Cause it's a lonely place when all that we need we cannot find." He's tired of looking "I won't try," because we all know looking for love just doesn't work. All he can do is close his eyes, walk in line and live his life with his "hands out" for someone to "write down their name." After all, every new day and every new year brings new possibilities.
