I haven't loved a song this much since I heard Emily play piano acoustic version of Help I'm alive. I think the first verse is referring to how people perceive her. They see her for a moment at a show and even though you may have gotten your money's worth with front row tickets, catching her eye for a split second, at the end of the show she's gone but at the same time I think she wants to stay in one place for a little longer than she gets to. The 2nd verse and the pre-chorus confuse me, but I love it! Episodes to fantasize TV movie of our lives The future is all mine I'll find it on my way back It makes me think that she hasn't gotten exactly what she wants yet in the first line or it's maybe a referrance to how people rely on television too often like how we fantasize about what we watch on tv with jelousy and envy |

“Wild open space Talk like an open book Sign me up Got no time to take a picture I'll remember someday All the chances we took” I think each of these sentences are phrases that align perfectly with their lives up to that day. Wild open space meaning they have the entire world to take advantage of Talk like an open book-well Emily has enough opinions to write plenty of books (I'd buy em all!) She spills her beans about everything going on in her life and her head Their band is traveling so much they probably don't have time to take a picture. This probably isn't even a metaphor for Metric it is most likely fact. |
