| Sonny Moore – Mora Lyrics | 15 years ago |

i think this song is about an ex-girlfriend who is dating someone abusive. sonny is saying that he wasn't the best boyfriend to her, but this guy is no better. swallow a little of that sea : taste him (sexual innuendo there) now taste a little bit of that salt in me (realise that we're much the same) throw up a little of it on your knees (you didn't like that about me) now doesn't that bring you back to the beginning? (why are you dating him instead of me if we are both the same?) i tend to form pretty abstract ideas from songs, and i know this is probably not what was intended, but i like the song. whatevs. lol. |

this is one of my favourite songs ever. i will agree with everyone who has said it; this song is definitely about an abortion. What's really interesting for me is that in Maria Taylor's song "Time Lapse Lifeline" she seems to reference to (her?) abortion - "though we dreamed a life...it was just like that...and just that, it's done" which can be linked back to Lime Tree where Conor sings "you left another message, said it's done, it's done" she also sings about "little negatives of hope" - ultrasound? This song is totally about her relationship with conor; they were apparently together for 7 years? |

"and making you a sign to poke in your little lives" i know that this makes no sense, but it's the closest thing i can make sense of. this song is interesting, because in all other RAGC songs, he calls his wife Suzanna (or Anna) but in this song, he seems to be singing to his daughter Suzanna about his wife/her mother. |

| Right Away, Great Captain! – Cause I'm So Scared of Dying Lyrics | 15 years ago |

i love this song! i gather that he's contemplating burning his house down and killing his wife. (matchstick and gasoline) destroying the evidence and trying to then move on (washing out all your prints from the fire in my heart) the references to angels taking her down suggests to me that he suspects Suzanna thinks she hasn't done anything wrong, and that when she dies, angels will come. She's singing hallelujah, and then perhaps is confused that she is going down (to hell) instead of up to heaven. "you asked the right directions, they told you its protection" - they didnt tell her where she was going. "did you believe them? or are they liars?" - he's asking if she was fooled by the angels. the end of song brings us back to his true emotions; he knows that if he were to kill her, he would miss her and feel lonely. but i think it's "now your legs look like firecrackers" "washing out all your prints from the fire in my heart" and "Where I told you I loved you, God dammit, I meant it When I told you I loved you, good Jesus, I meant it" His accent comes and goes in some songs, im pretty sure in one song he sings "Mutter" (german) instead of mother, so in this song "i meant it" is mumbled pretty bad. |

| Right Away, Great Captain! – Father Brian Finn Lyrics | 15 years ago |

his wife's name is Suzanna. ("my visions of suzanna drinking missiles" Memories on a Desk pt 1) Anna must be a nickname. andy hull posted recently on his myspace that the third album begins with the hero standing over his dead brother. he killed him and i think he family saw. i hear it as "stitched in a chord" the dilemma over love (you held my hand) and his desire for murder (i held a gun) is playing over and over in his head, thus the next line "wrapped in my head" |
