IMO, both the male and the female are insecure about themselves. The woman is self conscious about her looks. And you can't say that he didn't meet her because he thought she was unattractive. He did go to meet her, even after looking at her photograph. The man just doesn't want to be with someone emotionally unstable, maybe he's not ready, maybe he's had some bad experiences with "heaviness" in the past. Notice that he says 'Nothing too heavy" in his second description. This song gets to me every single time I listen to it. There's just so much pain you can feel. |
