Drake quote about the song : "I kept having this reoccurring dream that I was standing in this field by where my uncle used to play golf and coincidentally, where my uncle played golf and where my grandfather is buried are right beside each other," Drake told Billboard.com earlier this month about the track. "I kept having this dream that I was standing in the middle of that field and watching these fireworks go off. For a really long time I was trying to figure out what it all meant, and I guess the conclusion that I came to was, I'm at a very triumphant point in my life. I think I can make a lot of things happen for not only myself but a lot of people around me." |

Okay so I'm thinking this song is about fame changing his life. First stanza is basicly him talking about how life is going and where he stands - Generally just giving you his point of view. In the second stanza he's sorta questioning himself in the first line 'Am I wrong for making light of my situation...' is he wrong for choosing this life.? Is he wrong for finally chasing his dreams.? In a response to whoever he's talking about in the chorus (Friends and family maybe). The whole thing about his grandma is him showing how fucked up his priorities are right now and he knows but in a wayhe doesnt care because he's just focused on having fun right now. Third stanza he's realizing that 'Yeah maybe I have changed alittle' But he's justifying it by talking about how a friend of his set him up (Some girl set him up and got his chain stole by some guys that bitch) lol. And with the whole blunt thing he's saying fuck the past, he's starting over. |

In this song Drake is basicly letting you inside his head. To him some of the things that happened didnt turn out - How he expected. First stanza is just him addressing a few things. Like him doing rapping because he loves it not just because it pays the bills. In this stanza he first starts showing like this fame has left him kinda vulnerable - 'No autotune but you can feel the pain.' Some things have happened that maybe he wishes never did. 'It all come spilling out like I hit a vein.' He cant hold on to some of these thoughts anymore, Its becoming to much for him to carry - As if he has to get it all out so he can go on with his life. And next stanza (After chorus) 'Staring at the members of my team who get questioned about they profit from this million dollar scheme.' People on the outside (Maybe their family and friends) Want to know like what are you getting out of helping him reach his dreams.? Are you going to get a cut, Whats going to pay your bills.? And drakes just letting them know hes thankful for them. Third stanza (Not including chorus) 'But it's funny having fans. Who find you before anybody ever has the chance, and build you up so you could be the biggest in the game. And realize when you there, sometimes the shit don't feel the same.' Drake's talked about this on his blog about his fans thats messaged him saying that they liked him before the fame but now they dont feel it anymore && Obviously it hurt him in a way. And he talks about at home how his friends just thinks he got a new crowd because hes all famous now. And how his dreams has come true but he just imagined himself being alot more happier - Its just that certain things changed that he wished never did. |
