The Smashing Pumpkins – Zero Lyrics 14 years ago
When he says "I'm you lover, I'm your Zero," I think Zero means fool. You know, like "I'm a fool for you", that kind of thing. The reason I say that is because I know Corgan is into that hocus pocus tarot card bullshit and the fool (a tarot card in the major arcana), is often numbered "zero". I don't know if anybody's said that before, but yeah. Besides that, I really have nothing new to add to what others have already said

Marilyn Manson – The Nobodies Lyrics 15 years ago
Song's about Columbine, written in response to all the shit Manson got in the aftermath about causing it, he was pretty much throwing it back in the media's face and saying "You're the ones handling this badly, assholes." I mean of course they took it out on Manson, though, they need to blame somebody. See, when people don't have anybody else to blame they have no choice but to blame themselves, and they will crucify every man, woman, and child in the world before they'll do that. Because it's pretty much the worst feeling in the world to feel that you're responsible for something that horrible. So they picked easy targets, like Doom, Marilyn Manson, etc. to take it out on. They also assume that Manson and the like fucks kids up, but they have the cause and effect backwards. Violent music, games, etc. don't fuck people up, fucked-up people are drawn to violent things. It was the police and the kids that bullied them and the people that didn't notice how fucked up they were, it was all of their fault, but none of them wanted to admit it. And Klebold and Harris were probably mentally and emotionally unbalanced in the first place, and with things like that people should just accept that it's everybody's fault and nobody's fault and you can't just pin it on one musician or game or person in particular. I've known people that have killed themselves, or wanted to or tried to, and it's not something you can be talked into. And certainly not something you can be subliminally commanded to do by music. And this is even more twisted than suicide so this definitely isn't something anyone told them to do. I don't understand why people need to blame anyone. The media could just say "This was a horrible tragedy, and we feel awful for all the victims and out of respect we won't cover it any further, we'll release more details when things cool down." But no, that wasn't good enough for them.

Also, after Manson sings the bridge bit, before the softer repetition of the chorus there's a spoken bit that's sort of muffled, does anybody know what that says?
