| The Wonder Years – And Now I'm Nothing Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| "Suburbia, stop pushing. I know what I'm doing" is one of my favorite melodies on this entire album. It's constantly stuck in my head. | |

will this band ever stop being amazing? the WAHs kill me in the best way, oh my goodness. just never stop. i just love ben's voice and the way he can change the meaning of words just with the way he sings them. and how he completely destroys pronunciation sometimes but you still know what he's saying, and it's not annoying. it's just... ben. |

| Farewell Fighter – Growing Pains Lyrics | 14 years ago |

in the chorus, i hear: "Every day I get lost in a world that’s in the way OF who I am AND wanna be" and: "'Cause all the lost balloons That you and I let go too soon Were much too HIGH to see" and after the guitar solo, "real" instead of "risky"? maybe? im not sure, though. and after that part, before the last chorus, "or just hiding far too WELL?" hope that helps! |

I love this song so much. The reference to their previous song "The Winning Team" gets me every time. The first line from that song is, "I think I need a new cartridge. Everything's coming out black and white. I haven't been color since July." I love the whole song, but I especially love the last verse. From "I've learned how to keep my head..." to "...black and white." And then the last part with the gang vocals and over-lapping. ugh. So good. I can't wait to see them next month. Such an underrated band. They deserve so much success. |

| You, Me, and Everyone We Know – The Next 20 Minutes Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| it's a tiny thing, but i'm pretty sure it's "I know I said I never lied." instead of "i'd never lie" | |
| You, Me, and Everyone We Know – A Bigger Point of Pride Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| aahh, i see what you're saying. i'm not completely sold on the idea of it being that complicated, but it's a really interesting theory. ill keep listening to see if i can figure anything out, though. | |

i hear "My patience is a wicked thing, I've out-waited wedding rings. ohh, no." so i'm not sure where you're getting more words from. |

| You, Me, and Everyone We Know – Livin' Th' Dream (2010) Lyrics | 15 years ago |

i do like how with the first "you can't afford to live like this" they left out the "yes we can." i don't like how fast the first chorus goes into that part, though. it seems rushed. all the "oh ohoh oh oh oh oh"'s in the background are a little bit overkill to me, but i watched a video of this song in 2008, and they sang them live. so apparently they've been in the song at least live, since the beginning. and i really really enjoy the, "WE'RE NOT DONE YET." overall, for a song that i really really loved originally, i like the remake. maybe not MORE than the original, but i can handle it. |

| I Call Fives – This Song Is So 2006 Lyrics | 15 years ago |

i have a couple corrections. in the first verse, pretty sure it's, "this is the person i've been dying to be." not "first thing" pre-chorus: "i've walked around this town all alone, and..." chorus: "hard, hard as the drugs you're poppin'." and "turn up your radio." not "off" second verse: "how can you say that it's life you hate?" not "love" this song is so great. i'd love to hear a newer version with their new singer. |

I wasn't previously familiar with the word "Nexus," but after some google searching, it seems it's also linked with travel? So, "woke up 24 in Texas, breaking a sweat to expand my Nexus" could be, you know, he's in Texas sweating in the heat, just to say he's been there. In general, to me, the song is about getting older and feeling like you're not getting anywhere in your life, and feeling like everyone else thinks you're not getting anywhere, either. That's part of it, at least. And then there's the drug/alcohol references in things "not washing out." The line, "...making excuses to cope so liberally." I sort of hear "coat" in stead of "cope." Which could tie back to the drugs/alcohol references in "getting clean." I just love how this band is so clever. "But the problem with change is it's hard Like finding lively conversation in graveyards." ugh, so good. |
