[Mr. Lif] Yo The plan's covered in asphalt The Lord told me that it's man's fault For perpetuating detrimental ways of living we can halt Everything inside ya move You're caught inside a homicidal groove Where only the idle lose By violating one of life's most vital rules Thou shalt not But hell is a foul spot, where many are misinformed when they are taught And thus cherish the untrue Then die for the lies that they clung to Del and I were there when they hung you And as you swung to and fro We asked, (del:Where did the humane humans go?) With none in sight We're left to focus on the stunning fight That spites the same force that put the sun in flight So I summon night The lack of light left some in fright And living in fear With something they couldn't bear I promise to tell the truth and the whole truth I solemnly swear [Chorus 3x] Left,Right, Up, Down Diagonal Three-hundred and sixty degrees [Dj Craze scratches "three sixty degrees"] [Del the Funky Homosapien] Progression, the lesson I figure out which direction, then jettison Minimilize perplexion, flesh and bone that's just a physical I got a spiritual awareness I have risen to Its not mystical, something that I listen to When these plastic motherfuckers try to get into my cypher I syphon they blood like they split in two Yeah Del repel, arduous The purest, give 'em service with no insurance Evil I see through like cellophane Knowledge of self, that's why people see Del as strange They wanna humanize the most demonic dudes Apply harmonic rules Decide, who is the guy America's just like a pair of gloves Don't want to share with us Anarchy, tear it up [Chorus 3x] [Craze scratches "three sixty degrees"] [Mr. Lif then Del alternating stanzas] The new era, brings terror You wish the quality of life was better Peep the dilemma Yeah life's getting dimmer Stomachs' gettin' thinner But your soul keep you full, obesity's for sinners The sentiment lingers Low self-esteem hinders I tell my people 'bout slavery, no one remembers Maybe they ought to take a look in they mirrors Like Michael Jackson, and they actions get clearer Beware, the imagery might scare ya If you ain't close to the source, then you don't like prosperity One of many waitin' in line for therapy But everyone bear a seed as pure as the air we breathe |

| Grateful Dead – Deal Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I feel this to be about making careful decisions that don't result in a win or a loss for anyone, because a win for you is another man's loss. Such is the nature of gambling, you have to value yourself more than someone else in order to feel good about taking their money. I doubt this is an anti-gambling tune, but the first line "it costs a lot to win and even more to lose" speaks a lot to this negative view of gambling, but the tip to "watch each card you play" certainly doesn't discourage gambling. | |
| System of a Down – Science (feat. Arto Tunçboyacıyan) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| In the words of Dostoevsky, "Miracle does not create the faith, but it's the faith that creates the miracle..." If you choose to see a disease as proof to your faith that there is no god, it is miraculously so. If you choose to view the fact that we're even capable of having a life to lose as a miracle, then it is so...wether it's faith in a lack of god or a faith in the presence god, we all create miracles every day, or else we lead a boring life, void of all meaning. Ask yourself if there really is absolutely nothing you believe in, whether its yourself, money, god, science, truth. If there is nothing you believe in, I doubt that your human, or your just lying to yourself. | |
| System of a Down – Science (feat. Arto Tunçboyacıyan) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Think of all the pain experiments have caused, not just to humans and animals, but to our whole world, all in the name of science. By seeking answers outwardly, science has only created more confusing questions that hold us back from experiencing simple truths from within. In spite of striving towards efficiency, science gets caught up in finding answers, no matter how much the mess will cost to clean up. B34R, I agree with you that religion has been misused by man, but that's because it tries to define an indefinable truth of spirit. I personally believe spirit to be the stillness that our brains, having been wired to perceive only movement (including "still" pictures, which emit lightwaves that move), cannot comprehend. Science asks the right questions but in the wrong way, while most religions try to answer unanswerable questions, hence the confusion throughout the world today and this amazing song | |

Hara - Praise Mahadeva - a word sometimes used for Shiva, Hindu God. But I've also heard it attached to the Buddha. Shambho - one who is calm, all pervasive. Kashi - divine inner light - Vishwanatha - ruler of the universe (But there is a famous temple on the Ganges called Kashi Vishwanatha - temple to Shiva - which would make more sense since the phrase is linked to the Ganges |
