in a way i agree with both of the two different ideas being put forward here. I heard this song (played by Paul live) last night and he said that it was written about the yarra river area. Whilst it may be written about the Yarra River area, from the lyrics i kinda get the impression that it does have some specific reference to a time/moment (with a lover perhaps) spent in the area. It's just that second verse that makes in unable to be sure.... |

i think the lyrics "safer to keep you in this heart of mine" simply refers to the fact that the pain of forgetting or moving on from the loss or stressed relationship isn't worth the forgetting and that she would (for her own emotional health) rather keep this person in her life. |

I'm going to start by saying that i'm probably but these are just a few thoughts that came to mind.
I stll can't make sense of the "left for dead in mexico" vere, however for the others, i get the impression that he is referring to when you go through much to get something or someone, considering that it's "SHE tells you you're not home". But, dangled up-side down from a height" and "lowered into volcanoes", phrases like that indicate that he gets pushed around and that he's done so much, yet still he' not good enough for her??? "She tells you you're not home".

whilst i agree with xJayKayx, it seems a little bit odd to be writing about how "But our love could survive a war" yet it is still apparently also about how their love will come to an eventual end. It does seem like a valid explanation for the dinosaurs, and i don't have ay other connection. but, jsut a thought......abit contradictory, no? |

I think most people so far have had some really good points to make, however, i struggle to make the distinction as to wether it is a song about a distant yet together couple, a once together couple, unrequitted love. any suggestions?
