I think this song is about someone who is constantly sacrificing himself for everybody he knows. He's starting to crack under the strain of constantly being relied upon by his friends ("I'm off the save the world once again / but I don't know how I'm going to pull it off this time / I just know I'm gonna drown", but at the same time he's happy that he's making the people important to him happy ("You'll try to explain as the blood leaves all your veins / but you can't think of anything you would change"). |

The part about Alpha and Omega is a reference to the biblical passage "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End." Obviously being a part of the song's overall message about how life is not just a beginning (birth) and an end (death). |
