I think he is saying that her skin gets him high like it is cocaine. He is high on her. I don't believe this song is actually about drugs and being hooked on them. But what you're saying about running from the addiction is very correct. Except the addiction is one another, not cocaine. He is in love and he can't seem to escape that. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's just how I see it. Oh, and also, I believe the line "And she said 'it's time for the strongest groups of coolness to let go.'" Should actually be "And she said 'it's time for the strongest grips of could-have-beens to let go.'" -This one would make more sense with the context if the song, too. |
