This is another song about homosexuality from samael: Top becomes the bottom (in male female sex the male is usually the top, in gay sex the male can be bottom) The Fantasy Becomes Reality (engaging in the fantasy of gay sex) The Conceptions Change (the conception of being only with a woman changes) The Landmarks Dissolve (the pivotal landmarks such as marriage, having kids changes in homosexual relationships) And All Becomes Intermingled (there is no longer clear boundaries that love has to be between a man and woman, now it can be between a woman and woman, or a man and man) To Flirt With The Dispicable (refers to flirting with a something that is hated such as a gay man, this theme of struggle of sexual idenities is a reoccurent theme shown through samael music) In A Trance Without End (this line identifies that the person is having feelings that consumes with out end) Where The Ice Burns Like Glowing Embers (these lines are about ice burning, which shows that two things that are not suppose to happen with each other, gay sex is not suppose to happen either) And Where One Shatters By Fits And Stars Of Sperm (this is about having sex with men and having an orgasm) The Morale Of Men (this is questioning whether homosexuality shatters the illusion of what is moral to men) Serve Another God (this refers to choosing religion and false rules of man over self) Lose Another Dream (if you do this you will lose all hope of reaching the dream of being at peace with your true self) Sentiments Imprison And Leave Their Victims Without Defence (the ability to love who you want and coming out leaves you no defense against the critical world eyes) Love Is A Prison Which Flourishes In The Heart Of The Weak (Being free to be gay and love who you want to puts you in a prison of judgemental society, but it allows you to love instead of being entrapped by hate, the heart of the weak is that gay people are seen as being weak) From The Lower World We Direct The Attraction Of The Distasteful (attraction to the same sex) Makes Us Ignore The Vile (this means to ingnore the vile religious text that teaches hate towards gays and society who closed thier minds to accepting others) Since Only From Below Can One Better See The Heights (if you allow yourself to be free you can see the heights that you can reach-happiness |

Yet another song about being gay by Samael The wind of spring blows in heaven in the land of gold in the land of god (Just a reference that god was suppose to make everything perfect, yet it is not, people are born gay and are repressed by religion) manipulate the holiness (the words of god are interrepted instead of teaching love they teach hate) maculate our loneliness (Gays are not allowed to be part of society and are condemned to living alone and in fear) shining between two worlds (the person is trying to balance religion with their sexuality) learning to win and hold fraction of monopoly (trying to get acceptance from the church, yet religion teaches shame for being gay) tension of opposite's pole (people consider gay evil the opposite of good) give or take what has to move (this line refers how christianity is bounded by tradition and has to be more progressive) for I will fight for my country Eldest to the one and I harvest of love and light (this lines refers to having pride in who you are no mater your sexuality) armless - amnesty (this refers how christianity is suppose to be so accepting but is not, it does not embrace love for all, it just ingores groups of people and pretend they do not exist) North south east and west the cross is sent over the lands (refers to how christianity is world wide) keep draining what was and will be in our time in our life (christianity teaches not to take pride in yourself and who you truly are) pilot soul takes you on the ride, no rise no fall for Humankind (christianity teaches that you should reject your gay sexuality, to go on a pilot mode and do what society says you should do (being straight), therefore you will not go to hell, but you will never experience the higher things in life such as love for another) Among the best survive or leave (this refer to being in church, your among the purist, so you have to survive living without your natural instincts of being gay or leave) paranoid night so hard to relieve (paranoid night refers to going out to relieve your gay urges and being nervous that you will get caught and that other will know of your sin) would you betray innovation in the name of tradition (are you going to deny your sexuality to live by god rules) hopeless - amnesia (this line is a statement that if you deny your gayness that life will be hopeless) North south east and west the cross is sent over the lands keep draining what was and will be in our time in our life pilot soul takes you on the ride, no rise no fall for Humankind Helvetia gloria still smile behind the shade of shame cross your faith, join your hands tomorrow holds another day (the first line Helvetia Gloria is refering to embracing a woman but still you are always going to lust for a man so you have shame for who you are, the second line states "cross your faith, this is actually refering to rejecting your faith and joining hands with another man and being in a relationship with them and feeling hope for the future) Eldest to the one and I harvest of love and light dictated by war and hate (refrering to how religion is hatefult) supported by those who hide (there are religious peope who are gay) it lives in your mind (no matter how much you reject your gayness it is still there) whatever you may say (referring to how people say you can get rid of being gay-reference to the ex gay movement) whoever you may pray Christianity world-wide (all religions teach that homosexuality is wrong, so no mattter who your god to it is teaching self hate-this theme is continued in the song anti-god by the line that I am the only hope that you got) |

This is another Samael song that may be about sexuality. The light is much of samael music can be viewed as accepting who you are. This is just my interpretation of the song Profound is the pain from which is born deliverance (to confess that you are gay is to give up the burden of having a secret but family and friends will reject you) Long is the path which leads to the light (coming out is a long process) And you march alone ... (it is hard to connect with others and the gay lifestyle is often lonly) Wash your hands in the blood Of the lamb (this refers to that a gay person must defy god laws to be happy) Lick your punishment (lick your wounds is something that an animal does for thier wounds do not infected, a person who is gay must pretend that thier sin is ok) This stern eye you fear This condemning finger pointed at you (this refers to god's eyes ) Make them both part of yourself Make one out of two (this is speaking of hating yourself by incorporating society and god) And remember Regret is a worm born from your jealousy (regret of not being yourself grows and grows) Someone lives on in the depths of your heart (this is speaking that even though the person denied who they are, they are still themselves) Fight your deepest feelings Deny your own existence It never heals, it never heals (talking here about denying yourself heals nothing and the pain gets worst and worst) Opposing darkness to obscurity Doesnt lead anywhere Shine if you want to be (this song ends on a postitive note that once you accept yourself your life will shine Profound is the pain from which is born deliverance Long is the path which leads to the light ... (this is a repeat of first line and saying that the pain of self acceptance will lead to a better ending), |

This song is about a person struggling with thier sexual orientation, it is about a person talking to a friend and sharing that he will not pursue this lifestyle but follow gods ways: You know my friend Ive been walking on a really strange path lately Im so glad you were not there To see my fall, to see me passing on "this part represents a person exploring the other side of sexuality..one that is filled with sin, He feels guilty and is glad his friend was not there to see him engage in his weakness" My wound so deep "gay is something that cannot be healed and is a part of the person" My veins opened wide Letting flow my distress "the more honest he is with himself the more he hates himself" Letting flow my requests "wanting not to be gay anymore" Listen my friend As so one wanted to hear Im telling you now "He is telling his friend that he is gay" So weak was my hope So cold the world around So strong the calls My pain invited echoes to my pain "The guy is feeling hopeless for the future and is feeling tempted to live the christian lifestyle, he is doubting himself more and more" Anguish Coiled in the gut like a starving worm Fallen, between "refering to abstinance-starving worm. The peguy has 'fallen between' the normal society I slide down the hole at the center of my soul "the gayness is such a part of him that it creates a denial of basic self" Ive given up, Ive given up, larvae rots "The guy supresses his sexuality and gives up all hope at life" For I let the angel rise For I let the angel rise "the man grasp onto the holy lifestyle, it is pure...the angel is totally a dying being decaying in its self for its self denial..hence the name of the song" |
