| Bad Religion – Victims of the Revolution Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
In essence, the song is saying that violence begets nothing but sorrow. In our "Short-sighted arrogance" we destroyed that which we loved, that which we fought for, leaving our descendants to rebuild the world we shattered. the second stanza points out that, as the the winner gets the privilege to write the history, Revolutions and wars are remembered as great victories and triumphant blows against an oppressive foe, failing to note that countless men were cut down to pave this road to freedom. It is important to remember that, somehow, the enemy at least felt justified in their actions, or else they wouldn't have fought. |
