It is is just another part of the story for the character in Downward Spiral. He has broken away from society and is now trying to break away from God to make himself completely independent. He sees from the outside that all the people in the world are just God's "Pigs" and he despises them, wants to kill them all for their conformity to life. The first use of the "pigs" is in the song "Piggy" where he feels that his lover is just a "Pig" that has hurt him, by I guess cheating like the lyrics imply. So now everyone is just a "person who is trying to hurt him".
Now in "Closer" thats when the character has his last connection to God and society, he tells "Piggy" that she is the only thing that keeps him connected to humanity and God. He finally throws her aside and then the album continues with the story.
It has nothing to do with "cops" lol, but man as a whole. |

I hate when people say its not the "Old GNR", because Slash is not in it. Slash is the most overrated part of Guns N' Roses. Axl and Izzy were the masterminds behind every song they had. Besides Spaghetti Incident? was by far their worst album, because Izzy was gone. Axl is the greatest front man ever, even with new guys behind him. Its not like these new members suck either. The whole band is amazing in concert. |
