Actually, the story starts with the guy waking up with a dead "Annabel" beside him. He starts blaming himself, at the same time trying to convince himself that it was only a dream. Guilt makes him see what he believes is Annabel's ghost being tormented and angry at him. Losing his mind, he thinks about committing suicide (Hymn for the Shameless). In the song "The Thespian", a third character introduces himself as the one who was really responsible for Annabel's death.... Ehhhhh...To Be Scared By An Owl:: "You'd better look behind you..." He sees the man's reflection in the window of a shop. In the last song, the thespian kills the artist. |
