| This is a generic love song at first glance. The line "I'll dream alone, that's showbiz" struck me as a little out of place, but suddenly I got this picture of an aging aspiring actor, alone in the small room he used to rent with his former lover/roommate/fellow aspiring actress. They once dreamed together, figuratively and literally, but now she has found her dream without him. Perhaps when she first hit it big, they were still close, and she promised not to forget him. Even when they inevitably grew apart into separate lives, he couldn't bring himself to throw out her stuff. And now he dreams alone, that's showbiz... | |
