It's too bad they didn't put this on the album. I would've loved to hear it.. I love how she wrote "there's enough room for a sad song or two," and then in Ignorance, she's bashing someone who's writing them. "Don't wanna hear your sad songs, I don't wanna feel your pain." Bahahahaha. |

OK guys.. I read the first commments, and I guess no one really understood what it really meant. Watch out, I'm going deep..and this is only the way I see it. In this interpretation, Josh and Hayley have a lot to do with it, and her parents divorce. Mkay? Kay. -->"She lives in a fairytale, Somewhere too far for us to find, Forgotten the taste and smell of a world that she's left behind" <------ Hayley could be pretending everything was okay. ( I think it's because of her parent's divorce ) . --> "It's all about the exposure of the lens, I told her. The angles were all wrong now, she's ripping wings off of butterflies." <-------- Let me point out JOSH wrote this song with Hayley, and hopefully some of you know that they used to date by now ^_^ So its as if Josh is saying that he's telling Hayley to be careful when she's pretending, and that she should slow down. ? I guess that could be one way. --> "Keep your feet on the ground when your head's in the clouds." <----- Josh telling Hayley to make sure she actually has a grip on reality. --> "Go get your shovel, and we'll dig a deep hole, to bury the castle, bury the castle." <----- The castle is the place where the pretending, and her house where her parent's fought, etc. So Josh is saying that he'll help her forget, I guess. ( IN THE MUSIC VIDEO JOSH WAS DIGGING A HOLE, SO THIS IS MY PROOF. ) -->"So one day her found her crying, coiled up on the dirty ground. Her prince finally came to save her, and the rest you can figure out." Hayley was found by Josh, her "prince", and then they became two teenage lovers :') -->"But it was a trick, and the clock struck twelve, well make sure to build your home brick by boring brick, or the wolves gonna blow it down." <------ Hayley swore she was in love with Josh, but then they broke up and so Josh is saying that they should've known what they were doing when they were in the relationship because of the band. Then the chorus, blah blah blah.. -->"Well you built up a world of magic, because your real life is tragic, yeah you built up a world of magic." <------- Josh saying again that she had pretended so much because now Josh was gone and everything else affecting her life, like people leaving the band etc. -->"If it's not real, you ca't hold it in your hand, you can't feel it with your heart... and I won't believe it, but if it's true, you can see it with your eyes, oh even in the dark.. and that's where I want to be." <----------- In my eyes, I see this as if its Hayley's little cameo in the lyrics, and even though she sang the whole song, this actually seemed to be the only part she had written. She's talking about love, and how "if it's not real, you can't hold it in your hand, and you can't feel it with your heart." And how she won't believe in love. "But if it's true, you can see it with your eyes, oh even in the dark..and that's where I want to be." <--- That's her saying that if it was true, she could see love with her eyes, like seeing couples walking hand in hand, and even in the dark, and how she wants her life to be in the dark... I guess. ?? And then the chorus one more time. If you can, listen really closely, and you can hear Josh sing "You'll be better off without me." :) |
