Cage the Elephant – Rubber Ball Lyrics
|
i read this is about his past herione addiction.
Rolling around like a big rubber ball
Spinning the tops as the tables they turn
Made some mistakes but I still couldn't learn
Covered my tracks, thought I was fine
No self-control, now I'm back here in line
obviouisly references to his experiences on drugs and getting over them. impressive controll for a dude in his twenties. |

these are good theories, but lepper messiah is virgil hetfield, james' pops. apparently he was quite the dick, though he seemed pretty tight in 'a year and a half in the life of metallica' |

its a little ironic that rockster/punkster made it all the way to the metallica forum to one of their least popular songs to say that they all sound the same and that they're bad. personally its songs like these that make me really love metallica. The ones that not as many people like but are still just as mindblowingly awesome. |

Metallica – St. Anger Lyrics

I'm refering to the album, not the song: Metallica is my favorite band, with very little competition, and i love every second of every song, some more than others. Except St. Anger. Im really sorry that the partying finally caught up to james, though the drugs made for a great two albums (load and reload-- that shit doesnt come out of sober people), but its no excuse to come back from rehab and take a giant shit all over your guitar. the first riff he wrote upon returning, as seen in "some kind of monster", was, which may be the basis of naming the movie some kind of monster, the main riff to some kind of monster. 3 notes. the riff is three notes. they arnt even power chords. and if you have any kind of ear for music you might be able to keenly detect that most of the riffs in the entire album consist of 0-5 on the first string. And is anyone else confused about how the rhyming worked on this album? "Hmm... i dont seem to be able to come up with a rhyme for this line, so why dont i just REPEAT WHAT I JUST SAID??" There are a total of about four legitimate rhymes in this entire album. There are a few decent excuses for the general shittiness of the album though. One being that they had our favorite big blonde faggot (bob rock) telling them all the shit they were writing sounded good, and contributing nothing to the musical aspect of the album, which is a lot to ask from the ALBUM PRODUCER. Another was that jason had just left, and even though he was credited with about four songs in 16 years, he held a major position in the band, and when he left he made them face the depression of loosing their bassist, and also the dormant depression of loosing cliff. I hate to diss metallica, my one and only, but this album plain old SUCKED. |

not that anyone cares what delta 9 said in 2004, but anyone who sais lars is a bad drummer might as well say james is a bad guitarist, because they write all their songs together. granted the four of them (the main three and our best pal bobby) all were fucking terrible on saint anger. worst album ever. |

que significa chinga? Anyway, when they were writing the black album, as seen in "a year and a half in the life of metallica", bob rock mentioned that this was the song james had put the most time into. The finger picking style used in this song is unmatched by any other metallica song. You can tell this is really "James' song" because it's the only one I know of (owning every studio album) where he's the only one who plays a solo. I'm sure hardly anyone is paying attention to the drums on this one, but its one of the better lines lars has ever laid down as well. the alternation between snare and bass is awesome. This, orion, and to live is to die are the only three songs i listen to that provoke any emotion at all. |

Metallica – The Unforgiven II Lyrics

This is a song LYRICS website, but the amazingness of this song's music should be discussed. The first two people who decyphered the lyrics had it right, this is certainly a continuation of the first. Anyone who thinks two songs by the same band with that share lyrics are not related is stupid. The main verse riff is by far the best clean metallica riff, though if you play guitar you can see the similarities between most of their clean riffs. Chronologically, fade to black, to live is to die, the unforgiven II, and the day that never comes all follow rather similar chord patterns, but this one is the best. The bending in the riff is mindblowing. I love the repeating of some of the solo licks as the unforgiven I. Just an all around great song. |

Metallica – Orion Lyrics

this is by far the best metallica instrumental, followed by a tie between the call of ktulu and to live is to die. The second half of this song was at one point the back half of sanitarium. The intro with the bass power chords is instantly overwhelmingly awesome. The riffs are repeated just enough to send the message but not so much that its boring. The transition and melodic parts make me feel like im in space, or on marz (due to the redness of all master of puppets songs). The back half of this song it the best guitar part anyone has written, ever, or ever will. |

TheGame56, i dont know whether or not you'll ever look on this forum again, but members of the band have in fact done many drugs. I believe load and reload are proof enough. They talk about it in some kind of monster, though no one has commented since it came out. |
