CORRECT LYRICS Call me if you wanna talk There's a telephone on your wall And the reasons are many And not too far apart If there's some blood left in your heart Well let our loving finally start If you run, you can catch me My hate is wide but not too sharp I wanna hear the whistle blow And the feelings go I wanna be done with everything I know But difference is time It's the past, present, and waiting in line Difference is time It's his and yours, and it's especially mine Difference is time It's hard to stand on my feet With this weight of vagrancy I been trying to tell the difference Between the road and my street There's an end I will surely meet When I'm done dancing to this beat On my headstone in will be written "Life is hard even if you cheat" I wanna hear the whistle blow And the feelings roll I wanna be done with everyone I know (From album booklet) |

ah my god. I dearly love this song. I've been reading over the comments and several people are saying that they can relate to the song, or certain parts of the song. And I think that's why this song is beautiful. Many people can look at this song and all feel the same way about it. Kudos to Conor for knowing exactly how to word what's going on in my life. But this part just hits so close to home it gives me shivers: But just then my knees give under me My head feels weak and suddenly It's clear to see it's not them but me Who's lost my self-identity And I hide behind these books I read While scribbling my poetry Like art could save a wretch like me |
