I think this song re-contextualizes the rest of the album. Up until now we were led to believe that he was falling apart because she cheated on him and because she was the one who was leaving, but now we hear her side of the story and it turns out that maybe he's partly to blame for the separation. |

I think again it's a failed relationship, and that they've broken up, but she hasn't moved out yet. He hasn't gone completely crazy because she's still around, but he's counting down the days until she leaves for good. The verses of the song may be him trying to convince himself that he doesn't need her, but it's obvious he does. |

To me, the song represents a failed relationship because obviously the girl was younger and more capricious, and was mostly talk. The guy read in to everything she ever told him and convinced himself that it was love, and that they were meant to be, but obviously it didn't work out. |
