| I LOVE this song. To me, it feels like this person has been giving and giving and never getting back from the relationship. They always cared, but the other didn't seem to give a crap and just always expected that the caring person would be there. Now that person has finally decided to leave and is like, k, fine, I'm gonna go and find me a better life. You're gonna miss me, and you're gonna regret losing me. But when you finally realize this, I'll already be gone. hence the "You were blind to me, now I'm blind to you". My favorite line in this whole song. XD | |

I agree with buttnugget. It's such an amazing song. I think it's about him in this relationship that he knows is losing it's fire. He knows the girl is losing interest and he can see it clearly. But he knows it's going to kill him inside, and he'd rather live with the ignorance and pretend like everything's going to be okay because it's just too painful to face the reality that the one he loves is leaving him. Very beautiful. :) It's such a relatable song. |

David has such a beautiful voice and beautiful lyrics to match. I saw him in concert and he's absolutely unbelievable. I think this song means he lost the one he loves so much, and without her, there simply is no reason to live. It almost seems like the breakup was some sort of 'death' to him because when you lose the person who meant the world to you, a part of you seems to die inside and when someone is asking him what his last request is before his 'death', his last request is her. She's all he wants. I think it's well done, like all his others. He's an amazing artist. :) |

Well, to me, I think they may have possibly had a double meaning to this song. As I'm learning more about Lacey and the rest of the band, they're Christian, but they're also more. The "missing" in this song could definately be God and his love for us, and how a life can seem very empty without it, but also, I think it's about love in general. The new video just came out (which is way good!) and to me is seems that love was missing from her life. She was being forced to marry this dude and she couldn't even look at him; she knew it wasn't for her and she felt no joy in it and she seemed to feel simply locked up. But at the end of the video she becomes free. Dunno, I guess I could be off, but that's what it seems to me. A lot of artists will write a song w/ double meanings or different way to interpret it. btw, so excited for their new tour! I get to go to their concert!! XD |
