I think it's more than just suicide, i think it's more about finding a release, which happens to be suicide. "The will to rise above" Rise up into the next world? Assumably a better one, heaven concept kind of thing. "only the dead are smiling" I think that's saying the only thing that looks good to the speaker, is death, it's the only thing he finds happiness in. That's my take atleast. |

I think it's about the state the world is in. That the once "utopia" is breaking away, and chaos is once again resuming reign. People want retribution, but when they get it the feeling they get is still cold, not fulfilling as they had hoped. People are too afraid to break the mold, because of their phobias. The jaws around your spine, meaning that the fear (jaws) is what is keeping people's spines straight (metaphor for strength, "spineless"). |

Wow, question one person's belief for questioning yours. great job man. solid arguement. And dont you dare say scientists have ulterrior motives, they do what they do not because they want to spite religion, but to understand the world in which they live. Also, way to get defensive (proving his point about how people just dont want to be mainstream, which is strangley mainstrem now, imagine that.) and miss Blackened's point, which is that we have a lot of uneducated opinions, and that there is more to this song, the band, and the genre that a lot of people don't look at because they dont want to be "mainstream". they turn away from it all because of the probelms they themselves create. |
