Tool isn't against drugs! Where'd you hear that? They wrote many of their songs under the influence of DMT, LSD, and ketamine. A quote from Maynard states: "I think psychedelics play a major part in what we do, but having said that, I feel that if somebody's going to experiment with those things they really need to educate themselves about them. People just taking the chemicals and diving in without having any kind of preparation about what they're about to experience tend to have no frame of reference, so they're missing everything flying by and all these new perspectives. It's just a waste. They reach a little bit of spiritual enlightenment, but they end up going, 'Well, now I need that drug to get back there again.' The trick is to use the drugs once to get there, and maybe spend the next ten years trying to get back there without the drug."

At first I agreed with your interpretation of the name, "Triad", that it's called that because there are three of the members (a triad) playing it. A few minutes later I realized that it's actually not. Maynard plays a second bass (a headless steinberger!), that adds it back to four. And they commonly bring in extra drummers from other sets to do a battle with danny or something. That's five :) |

I'm going to die if this toolfreak guy calls another human a "fag", without knowing really who his target is. "Hooker with a Penis"...how does the OGT know who Maynard is besides what Maynard says he is? God damn, you people are fighting through comments on a song thats targeted directly at you.

Nice effects, I heard they stood behind a waterfall and just boosted the bass a bunch. Then in the...scary part...a little after the middle, I think they took a large flat sheet of metal and waved it to make the wild thunder effect.
It's kinda neat how there are more words of comment on this song than the words there are in the song itself. |
