| This song is so much like what happened in my summer. This song was written on past experiences that Vanessa had. She went away to a summer intensive (basically its a summer dance camp that is overnight and goes on for weeks) and didn't have that great of an expierence.... she lost her virginity. Besides the fact that I didn't loose my virginity at this camp nor drink beer, every detail describes my summer perfectly. There even was a guy who often wore a bright red shirt that multiple girls crushed on. I also had struggles at this camp too, like almost being kicked out for being bulimic. So I, too, will not be coming back. I just love this song. | |

Okay. My interpretation is totally different. I have nothing against religion, but I don't go to church. Which probably explains a lot. And for all u very religious people, I do still love and believe in God. But anyway, here is what I think: The arrow is the symbol of being quiet, untrustworthy, or tongue-tied. She cuts it from his throat because she wants to talk with him and get to know him. It was put in his throat by a past lover that did him wrong. "Give your immortality to me Ill set you up against the stars" Means that he should trust her that she will respect him The repeated section that the guy sings (Im a huge fan of Hush Sound but I still don't know the names) is saying that people lie and cant be trusted. Even we lied. "This is the time and this is the place to be alive" Means that he is afraid to trust. "The sea is wine red" blood of those who have tried before |

This is just my thoughts on this (I usually compare it to my own life) There is a girl (wow. obvious much?) who likes this one guy. She wont let the bluebirds out to sing (they are a symbol of love). She is trying to deny her love because she thinks she will be fine on her own. "break the sky" Is an expression basically saying she can do anything. |
